Vietato Innamorarsi

Vietato Innamorarsi is a participative theatre piece where Open Lab contributed game design and dramaturgy.

The theme of the piece: “Italy, year 2042. The pervasiveness of gender-based violence has spiraled out of control, and the State, after several failed attempts at awareness-raising and repression, issues the ‘No Falling in Love Decree.’

Love is permanently banned from people’s lives. If passion is irrational and inevitably leads human beings to violence, the only possible solution is to eliminate the problem at its root!”

The game

The game is a participatory and intergenerational project that investigates the relationship between performance, game and society. This pièce contains participatory performance devices created by Trickster-p, with whom Open Lab collaborated during the entire development for the game design.

Eutopia

“Eutopia
The stories of the Earth have changed in nature and scale: we do not write stories to tell about the creation or the course of the world, but to avert its end.” (Trickster-p presentation)

The board game developed by Trickster-p with game design contributions by Open Lab has turned into a collective performance, “Eutopia”, available in theatres around the world. Based on an infinitely generative mechanic of life agents, the collective experience generates always new scenarios and landscapes.

i4T

The i4Ts game is a hybrid (paper+digital) board game that provides guidance to educators in the conceptualisation (i.e. the initial design stage) of collaborative, inclusivion-oriented learning activities for their students. The i4Ts game can be effectively used for professional development in Learning Design, intended as a team-based task. Targets of the output are in service teachers, student teachers and their trainers. Started for the CNR of Genova, now it is an intellectual output for the PLEIADE European project.

The Workplace Challenge

In the business context, the video game can even help to better understand how certain problematic situations arise and what are the strategies in place to solve them. With this in mind, The Workplace Challenge was created. The aim is to help Salvo, an IT technician, to solve the malfunctions of the IT infrastructure that undermine the productivity and happiness of the office.
